FEDERAL: SUPPORT “HALEY’S ACT” ON BIG CATS
Named
for slain teen Haley Hilderbrand, H.R. 1947 recognizes that big cats
are wild animals, and that for our safety as well as theirs, they
should not be in direct contact with the public. Future tragedies may
well be prevented with the passage of this important public safety
bill.
MISSOURI: HB 46 TAKES AWAY PROTECTIONS FOR LARGE ANIMALS
Under
current Missouri law, authorities may remove animals of any size from
abusive situations. If passed, HB 46 will put a 50-pound weight cap on
farm animals/livestock—this includes horses!—that may be impounded for
their own safety, thereby exempting large farm animals from current
cruelty laws. Please help us defeat this inhumane bill!
